Sandra Lee Churchill

Art Instructor Bio

I have over 25 years’ experience providing artistic programs and creative events featuring acrylic painting, charcoal drawing, mixed media, themed craft events, and watercolor, in addition to fiber arts. The settings for these events include libraries, home school environments, after-school enrichment programs, corporate events, charity fundraisers, and birthday parties, among others. My experience spans pre-school and elementary students through teens, adults, and senior citizens. I am grateful that my programs have run in multiple towns and often fill with a wait list of enthusiastic painters!

My paint programs emphasize creativity and self-expression, coupled with introductions to techniques on painting composition, color blending, and brush-strokes. My instructional approach comprises guided, hands-on learning with a dual focus on both product and process, teaching techniques but also fostering personal expression for each participatory student. I emphasize positivity, artistic development, and individual creativity in an upbeat, supportive community setting.

I believe that opportunities for hands-on artistic creativity not only foster painting skills, but provide settings for community connection and improved mental health through stress-reduction and personal engagement.

In addition to paint programs, I am also the director of Churchill Enrichment. This means that I coordinate the After School Enrichment Program at the Howard School and Rose L. MacDonald School in West Bridgewater and run the vacation camps (February Mini Camp, April Mini Camp, and Summer STEAM Camp).
